Dr Chris McKinlay
Dr McKinlay graduated in Medicine from The University of Auckland and completed general paediatric training in Auckland, followed by subspecialist training in neonatology in Melbourne. His PhD, undertaken at the Liggins Institute, investigated the long-term effects of repeat antenatal glucocorticoid treatment for preterm birth on risk of cardiovascular and metabolic disease. He combines clinical neonatology with perinatal research, focusing on interventions to improve long-term metabolic, respiratory and neurocogntive function in at-risk infants. He has joint appointments at the Liggins Institute and Kidz First Neonatal Care, Counties Manukau Health.
Chris sits on the PLUSS Trial Steering Committee and is also the Site Investigator for Middlemore Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand and oversees NZ sites
